We’re currently hiring for the following positions:
Pool Maintenance Technician
Pool Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the upkeep and care of swimming pools, ensuring they are clean, safe, and functioning properly. Your duties include pool vacuuming, maintaining equipment, testing and adjusting water chemistry, and making necessary repairs if possible or identifying when a service call is required. Maintenance Technicians also interact with pool owners, addressing concerns and providing information on preventative maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning:
Skimming debris, vacuuming, emptying skimmer and pump baskets, brushing waterline, backwashing the filter and cleaning pool surfaces. - Water Chemistry:
Testing and adjusting water balance (pH, chlorine / bromine / salt, alkalinity, etc.) using appropriate chemicals. - Record Keeping:
Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, chemical levels and completing work orders. - Customer Service:
Addressing customer inquiries and concerns, providing advice on pool maintenance best practices. - Safety:
Ensuring all work is performed safely and in compliance with regulations. - Inventory Management:
Ensuring supply on truck and maintaining necessary chemicals and supplies.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Physical Stamina:
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions. Ability to carry 50lbs sometimes multiple times a day. - Technical Skills:
Understanding of pool systems, water chemistry is an asset - Problem-Solving:
Ability to identify and troubleshoot issues with pool equipment and water quality. - Customer Service Skills:
Possess attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with pool owners; offer advice, troubleshooting suggestions and address any concerns effectively. - Valid G Driver’s License:
An asset - Experience:
Previous experience as a pool technician is an asset.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Following Safety Procedures:
Adhering to safety guidelines and utilizing appropriate safety measures when handling chemicals and equipment. - Staying Updated:
Keeping up with industry trends and best practices in pool maintenance is an asset. - Following Instructions:
Accurately following instructions from supervisors and manufacturers.
Terms of Employment: Seasonal, Full-time
Compensation: Compensation is negotiable based on experience
